Hey everyone,

it's been no secret that with the development of Heroes of Fortunia well on its way, I haven't been able to give quite as much love to the servers as I used to. However, as I've previously stated to certain individual players on the servers, I have no intent of shutting the servers down as long as there are still players interested in playing.

Still, the decline due to the lack of advertising is noticeable, and the lack of content may be a bit of an issue even for the players who are still playing. So I've come up with a plan for the future that is supposed to be some sort of middle ground, which will allow the servers to keep running but also provide an alternative for the players who've seen it all and are just looking for more HCMCPVP-like content.

Here's what's going to happen!

In the near future, I will update the servers to Minecraft version 1.13. This will bring a small amount of bugfixes and quality of life improvements with it, but no major content updates. This will be the last major update (outside of bugfixes) the servers will receive. I have no exact date for that yet, but you can expect it to happen by the end of the year.

Support for the servers will cease in March 2019. This does NOT mean that the servers will be shut down, but you will no longer be able to purchase Credits with real money, I will no longer provide support in-game or on Discord, and no further updates (including bugfixes) will be made to the servers. The servers will still run, and you will still be able to earn Credits by other means, such as voting.

In April 2019, together with the release of Heroes of Fortunia, I will release all of HCMCPVP's plugins and their source code to download for free on GitHub. This includes:
  • HcmcCore: The backend plugin required for all the following plugins...
Hey all,

it's finally time to announce that Heroes of Fortunia (previously known as "Dungeons & Heroes") is entering closed beta later this year.

In this post, you will learn what to expect from closed beta, and how to participate.

For those of you who haven't been introduced to the game yet, you can watch a few YouTube videos detailing some heroes & minions on my channel by clicking here. Note that by now, these videos are a little dated, and no longer reflect the current state of the game. Nevertheless, they're a good entry point.

Regardless, here's a short summary

The gameplay of Heroes of Fortunia is split into two elements: Dungeon building & dungeon raiding. Players both strive to create a very difficult dungeon, so that others will have a tough time beating it, as well as raiding other players, either for casual fun, or in ranked games that count towards your leaderboard standing.

Minions & traps are obtained from treasure chests, which can be bought using gold (the currency awarded for a successful raid). Gold can be gained both from casual & ranked play.

What is closed beta? What to expect?

Beta is the phase where most of the game's core mechanics are finished, but it is largely lacking in content. Closed beta means, that only a select few are allowed to participate in playing the game, before it is opened to the public and enters open beta.

Over the course of the next few weeks, the official Heroes of Fortunia website is scheduled to launch, which will provide more detailed information on the game, as well as the option to sign up for closed beta. If you happen to be selected, you will have the opportunity to get your hands on the game and get a feel for it, as well as participate in...
These changes are now live.

Hey all,

today is the day the update you have been waiting for is finally arriving! Just for the sake of completion, I've reposted all the changes coming this update. Unfortunately I've had to cut a few things because they either wouldn't fit properly or because they would warp the gameplay too much, below you can see the full list of changes.

To recap, these are the new mythic items that are coming to the game:
  • Spellbook (Spirit Reap): Right Click: Launch a projectile which puts the victim player into spiritwalk (spectator) mode upon impact, after which they die. During spiritwalk, they can possess other players and latch on to them during teleport, but they cannot teleport themselves. Increasing your Arcanology skill increases projectile speed & range. (counterpart to Spellbook (Spiritwalk))
  • Possession Engine: Right Click: Take control of a random monster in the same world until you die. This triggers a 3-minute combat tag and cannot be used while combat tagged. (counterpart to Mob Spawner)
  • Unholy Totem: If this is in your inventory when you kill another player, you get to open their ender chest and this gets destroyed. (counterpart to Totem of Safekeeping)
  • Mythic Warp Token: Increase your warp limit by 1, up to a maximum of 50. Must be at 30 warps or more to use this item. (counterpart to Legendary Warp Token)
  • Essence of Death: Right Click: Throw this item. If it hits another player, they add it to their inventory. While this is in your inventory, your maximum health is 1/2...
Hey all,

for those of you who haven't kept up with Dungeons & Heroes reveals, you'll be very interested in this one!

The second playable hero has been revealed: The Archer! But enough talk, watch the video here:

Hey all,

as you may have noticed, I haven't uploaded a reveal video in quite some time. That's not because I haven't been working on the game (because I have been!), but because I've had some issues with uploading recently. I'll be back in Germany starting this Thursday, which is when you will be able to expect all of the videos I've missed as well as a very special one on top of that!

To clarify, here is the new updated reveal schedule:
  • April 22nd 2018: Knight Skills & Basic Mechanics (click here to watch)
  • April 29th 2018: Reaper & Rat Grunts (click here to watch)
  • May 6th 2018: Speedy Rat & Shadow Rat (click here to watch)
  • May 13th 2018: Cyclops Wizard (click here to watch)
  • June 2nd 2018: Alarming Treant & The White Knight
  • June 3rd 2018: Archer & Night Prowler
  • June 10th 2018: Holy Wizard & Shadow Wizard
  • June 17th 2018: Speedy Treant & Freezing Treant
  • June 24th 2018: Wraith Mage & Ravaging Hound
What exactly has changed? Well, for those who can't recognize the changes in the list: Alarming Treant & White Knight will be revealed on May 30th & May 31st respectively, and on June 3rd instead of Wraith Mage & Night Prowler, I will be revealing the Archer & Night Prowler. The Archer is actually going to be the second playable hero in the game, so you will be getting some brand new gameplay in addition to a minion reveal!

As of right now, the Archer is already fully playable and is only missing custom skills & effects. I'll be recording the video for him shortly!

As you all know, Dungeons & Heroes is scheduled to release a singleplayer demo in July this year! Let me use this as an opportunity to tell you a little bit more about that...
These changes are not live yet. They will be live on June 22nd 2018.

Hey all,

today is the day I'm revealing the entirety of the remaining new mythic items coming to Mythic Survival in June! The set release date for all of these is June 22nd, but depending on how fast/slow I am this may be a bit earlier or later.

To recap, these are the new mythic items that are coming to the game:
  • Spellbook (Spirit Reap): Right Click: Launch a projectile which puts the victim player into spiritwalk (spectator) mode upon impact, after which they die. Hey all,

I am currently working on a new Mythic Survival update, which is going to be fairly big! In this new update, every legendary item is going to get a mythic counterpart, which acts slightly differently than its legendary version.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be revealing one item at a time, so be sure to check this post regularly to be informed of new changes! I'll be revealing new items in the same rhythm as I'm revealing Dungeons & Heroes content, that is every Sunday at 6pm UK time.

To kick things off, here is a list of item names and the first three (actually more like 2.5) items that are confirmed:
  • Spellbook (Spirit Reap): ??? (counterpart to Spellbook (Spiritwalk))
  • Possession Engine: Right Click: Take control of a random monster in the same world until you die. This triggers a 3-minute combat tag and cannot be used while combat tagged. (counterpart to Mob Spawner)
  • Unholy Totem: If this is in your inventory when you kill another player, you get to open their ender chest and this gets destroyed. (counterpart to Totem of Safekeeping)

Hey all,

just a quick post to inform you that the latest Mythic Survival update is now live.

Took me a bit longer because lol uni. Sorry about that.
Hey all,

I'm aware that I have been less than active over the last couple days/weeks. I've received a support ticket from a player containing a few questions I thought you all might appreciate the answer to.

I actually haven't done anything on the game in quite a while. The first two videos on it were pre-recorded because I knew I was going to be busy with uni stuff. I had two assignments to do, and had an oral exam in Japanese this week. The last of the two assignments is due tomorrow, and I literally just finished it 10 mins before writing this post. Now I have two weeks of breathing room until finals start, so I'll try and get some good work done on the server and the game in that time.

Finals will be roughly two weeks from 14th May to 30th May. During that period I'll very likely be absent again, but will make a full return in early June.

I'm sorry about that and realize the Easter rewards are long overdue. I'll probably hand them out with the upcoming Mythic Survival update, but before that let me just show you the final results:
  • 1. Andi931 (31 eggs)
  • 2. Elite_SWAGG (17 eggs)
  • 3. 8ohmy (5 eggs)
  • 4. EnderSlayer_357 & 129TobY (4 eggs)
  • 6. Virrrre1(2 eggs)
  • 7. Gladiola & jumpingsquirrel (1 egg)
I've already explained why I've been absent, and while I don't know for sure, I suspect DragonRibs has something similar going on right...
